Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to My Compliance Guru (“MCG”, “we”, “our”, or “us”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, and handle information when you access or use our website and GSTR-1 Desk service.

We respect your privacy and aim to handle your information responsibly. By using our website or services, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use our services, we may collect the following categories of information:

Account and Contact Information

GST and Business Information

Files and Generated Data

Technical and Support Information

We may collect technical information such as browser details, error logs, security-related records, and information you provide when requesting support, to the extent these are collected by our systems.

3. How We Use Your Information

We may use information to:

We do not intend to use your GST or invoice information for purposes unrelated to operating, securing, or supporting the service, except where permitted or required by applicable law.

4. File Processing and Downloads

Excel and CSV files

Excel and CSV files selected for processing are read and processed in your browser. The original files are not uploaded to or stored on our application server as part of this browser-based workflow.

This statement describes the intended processing flow and does not rule out separate technical data that may be collected by hosting, security, or other website infrastructure.

Generated JSON and Excel files

Generated output files are made available for download through your browser. Generating or downloading a GSTR-1 JSON file does not mean that a GST return has been submitted to or accepted by the GST portal.

Saved dashboard records

If you choose to save a month or record, the service may store associated summary information in our database, including totals, section-wise counts, errors or warnings, source filename, and row count.

Where the generated GSTR-1 JSON is within the system’s configured storage limits, the service may also save the full JSON in parts. This JSON may contain invoice-level information, including party GSTINs, invoice numbers and dates, invoice values, taxable values, and taxes. If the JSON exceeds the configured storage limit, only summary information may be saved.

Please review saved records before storing confidential business or client information.

5. Storage and Retention

We retain account information and saved records for as long as necessary to provide the service, maintain account functionality, meet applicable legal obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the service, subject to applicable law.

Retention periods may differ depending on the type of information and how it is used. Some technical logs, security records, or backup copies may remain for a limited period where necessary for operational, security, or legal purposes.

6. Access to Saved Information

Saved records are associated with the relevant user account. Our service is intended to allow users to access only the records associated with their own accounts. We use access controls intended to prevent unauthorized access.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Please keep your login credentials confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

7. Deletion and Backup

Deleting saved records

Where the dashboard provides a deletion option, you may delete saved months or saved JSON records from your account. Once deletion is completed, the deleted records should no longer be available through the relevant account. Copies retained in backups, logs, or other systems may be subject to separate retention periods, where applicable.

Deleting your account

If account deletion is available, you should download any records you wish to keep before requesting or completing deletion. Account deletion will be handled in accordance with our deletion process and applicable law. We will not claim that every copy is immediately erased from every system unless that can be verified.

Your responsibility to keep backups

You are responsible for downloading and securely storing any required JSON files, Excel files, invoices, or other business records before deleting saved records or your account.

8. Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information when reasonably necessary with:

We seek to limit such sharing to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

11. Your Privacy Requests

We may need to verify your identity or account ownership before acting on a request. Certain information may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate security and operational purposes.

12. Children’s Privacy
